Linda and I have been sailing the Salish Sea for a number of years. We started with a 12′ Hobie Cat. A boat you sit “on” rather than sit in. We quickly moved to a Lancer 25′. Fun first real sail boat with a battery, hot water if you are plugged into shore power, a porta potty and a bunk on each side. We sailed “Lady Bugs” all over Puget Sound and even up to the San Juan Islands. She was solid boat but as a shallow draft vessel she was tough to gain much headway upwind. Following Lady Bugs was “Loribird” that we later changed to Sound Decision. She was a Morgan 323 and huge step up for us. Sailing characteristics were much better, she had a real head, galley and v birth. Sound Decision allowed us to expand our cruising area even further into the Salish Sea. We really honed our skills and she was very gentle with us as we learned to sail on a larger vessel.
