Woke up to a little overcast but still very warm and humid at 7:00 am. It feels like you are trying to breath underwater at times. “Funky Town” is playing from one of the surrounding condos. Seems a little out of place but in the resort areas they seem to play a lot of American type music. There is a very slight breeze rustling the palm trees as the birds wake up and begin their daily songs. Then the AC kicks on and drowns out the sounds I was enjoying. Argh! I can just see Pellucidar’s mast from the balcony of our room.
We finished with many of the larger items preparing Pellucidar for her stay in the yard so I think today will be spent exploring. We’ve been working either early mornings or later at night to avoid the intense heat. On deck with a breeze is not too bad but down below we are drenched in sweat in a matter of minutes.
I was able to get a photo of Francisco. He found our back canvas after it blew into the water before we left in February. It was great to see him and be able to say thank you again.
I will note that most everyone is taking appropriate precautions and maintaining proper distancing down here. Stores and restaurants are open but with restrictions.
That’s it for now. I need to get you all caught up on our adventures before and during Covid and that is in the works.
